It's important to have a good lock to keep your bike secure. There are also a number of other measures that are worth considering including security marking your bike.
The Home Office has produced a useful leaflet outlining ways of steering clear of cycle theft. Download the leaflet.
For advice on the best security equipment to purchase for you bike visit the Sold Secure website. The products are tested and graded. You can’t actually purchase products from the site, but it does tell you where they can be purchased and what level of security they have achieved. Products tested and approved will show the Sold Secure logo.
Another useful website is bike register. This website gives advice on getting your bike security marked and offers a registration service which aims to reduce bicycle theft and assist in owner recovery.
