Cycling town evaluation and travel surveys

The Department for Transport is keen to monitor progress in the 18 cycling towns and cities and is funding an evaluation programme. As part of this, they will be contacting residents in Shrewsbury from 20 July 2009 to find out about their current travel behaviour and levels of physical activity.

The survey is being conducted on behalf of the Department for Transport by Facts International, an independent research organisation working in partnership with AECOM transport consultants. The interviewer will show their official identification card which includes their photograph and the Facts International logo.

Households have been randomly selected to be included in this research. The interviewer will undertake a short (approximately 10 minute) interview with each member of the household.

The views of all residents are important for the Department for Transport and they rely on the voluntary co-operation of everyone they approach to make the study as accurate as possible.

Surveys will be completed by the end of September, results of the survey will be published as soon as they become available.

If you have any questions please contact the study team on 0800 652 8646.
