What do you love about cycling in Shrewsbury?

We asked some of our Cycle Shrewsbury members what they love about cycling in Shrewsbury. Here are a selection of their responses:

It's quicker, it's more fun and it gets me out in the fresh air.
The cycle paths are wide, well marked out and are generally kept clear from debris.
It's green, quiet and wakes you up and gives you energy for the day in the morning while heading to work.
You can ride for miles without having to use a busy road.
There are so many cycle lanes round about the town, and so much lovely countryside surrounding Shrewsbury.
I can make use of the (car free) tree lined avenues in the Quarry. These are fantastically wide cycle routes, so lots of room for sprogs on bikes and picnic paraphernalia!
The views are wonderful and the cycle paths are great!!

What about me?

As someone who can't drive, for me the best thing about cycling in Shrewsbury is how fast you can get to places, it's so much quicker than walking! And I'm always amazed all the great short cuts and by the parts of Shrewsbury that you get to see on a bike that you might not normally travel through.
