Shrewsbury schools sports partnership

sssp_logo The Shrewsbury schools sports partnership (SSSP) has been working hard for the last 5 years engaging over 15 schools in cycling activities as part of their PE activities and after school clubs.

With the support of British Cycling many Go-ride clubs have been established and an annual inter-school competition has been run for pupils cycling_coach_at_sundorne_infants from 5-14 years old.

SSSP owns a fleet of bikes and a trailer to transport them in order to make cycling accessible for all. They are working closely with Shropshire Council and British Cycling to develop opportunities in BMX cycling and have secured funding for some mountain bike courses for secondary pupils.

go_ride_clubs Partnership development manager Denise Lee is working with Cycle Shrewsbury to maximize funding to offer both Bikeability training and a cycle coach for schools.
