Cycling towns

Between summer 2008 and March 2011 Cycling England ran the cycling town initiative, funded by the Department for Transport. The aim of the initiative was to get more people cycling, more safely, more often.

In addition to Shrewsbury, there were 17 further cycling towns and cities in England:

Visit the Cycling England website for more information about what was achieved by the cycling towns and cities initiative.

Please note

Cycling towns funding ended in March 2011, therefore the above websites are subject to be shut down at any time. We apologise for any broken links.
